How do I transfer ownership of an account to another (mt) Media Temple customer?
Overview
There are two types of Account Transfer of Ownership: "In Contact" or "Not in Contact."
If you are "In Contact" with the listed owner of the (mt) Media Temple account, you will need to fill out the Account Transfer Letter With Account owner Agreement - In Contact. You can also have the listed owner forward you the AccountCenter login information, and then edit the existing owner Contact information, see instructions here.
If you are "Not In Contact" with the listed owner, then proof will need to be provided by the new owner while filling out the Account Transfer Letter With Account owner Agreement - Not In Contact.
Required documents
The following are the required documents to be faxed to +1.310.388.0929, or scan and email AccountTransfer.
1) Signed I-9 or W-3 form and supporting documentation of the current account owner.
2) A certified copy (i.e., government issued and stamped) of the Company's formation documents (e.g., Articles of Incorporation).
3) A copy of a valid governmental issued identification (with the Current Registrant's signature appearing on the identification).
4) A copy of a utility bill corresponding with the address on the Company's letterhead and/or Current Registrant's identification.
We do take alternative documents for 1) and 2), and please email AccountTransfer an explanation as to why you would need to submit the alternative documents.
The Transfer of Ownership process can take up to 3-5 business days and the fee is $25.00 for the "Not In Contact" form only.
Once the account transfer has been completed, an email with the AccountCenter login information will be sent to the provided email address. You will then need to update all outdated account contact and billing information in the AccountCenter. Please see this article for more information: Billing information.
