(dv) 3.5 Memory Upgrade Program
Overview
Since June 4, 2009, (mt) Media Temple has offered free memory upgrades for existing (dv) Dedicated-Virtual 3.5 servers. This reflects our recent memory upgrade to our (dv) product line. As of June 1, 2009, any new (dv) 3.5 server will have the following amount of RAM already installed:
- Base: 512MB
- Rage: 1024MB
- Extreme: 2048MB
How to Upgrade
Upgrading your server is a very straightforward process that can be handled right inside the AccountCenter.
- Log into your AccountCenter and access the Admin Panel for your (dv).

Click on the "Upgrade Server" Tool:

On the next screen, you will see a message if you are eligible for a free upgrade. Please be aware that not all servers have been upgraded at this time.

Click the "Upgrade Now" link and confirm your upgrade. Your current memory allocation will be automatically doubled without a reboot!
Frequently Asked Questions
What about (dv) 2.0 and 3.0 Servers?
Unfortunately, this offer only applies to (dv) 3.5 Servers. If you would like to have more memory for your server, you will need to open a new service and migrate your existing site data. This can be easily accomplished using the Plesk Migration Manager however. See this article for more details on upgrading your server.
I have a (dv) 3.5 and I don't see the Upgrade link in the AccountCenter?
At this time, all (dv) 3.5 servers have been upgraded. If you have not already activated your free memory add-on, please do so via the AccountCenter as described above. If the option is not available to you, please open a support request.
What if I already have a 128MB add-on for my service?
Any (dv) server with a 128MB add-on will be doubled as well to 256MB. You can optionally close this add-on if this new memory addition suits your needs. In this case, please close this add-on service in the AccountCenter. Click here for instructions on closing this add-on.
