Overview

Drupal is a free and open source content management system (CMS) written in PHP and distributed under the GNU General Public License. This article will show you how to install Drupal using the 1-Click Applications tool in the AccountCenter.

READ ME FIRST

(mt) Media Temple only supports the basic operation of our 1-Click installer and not the Drupal application itself. Please consult our Scope of Support for further details. You should also be aware of the following:

  • The Drupal version used in the guide below may not reflect the most recent version available in the AccountCenter.
  • Be sure to keep Drupal up-to-date. You can find upgrade details by clicking here. Upgrades do fail sometimes, so remember to backup your database first, and deactivate any plugins before starting the upgrade.

Instructions

  1. Log into your AccountCenter.
  2. Click on the primary domain of your (gs) Grid-Service.
  3. Click on 1-Click Applications, see Figure 1:

Figure 1. Your (gs) Grid-Service Control Panel.

  4. Click on Add New Application:

    Add New Application
    Figure 2.

  5. Click the start button for Drupal, see Figure 3:

Figure 3: Click to begin your installation.

  6. Setup your Installation Parameters:

Figure 4: Enter your domain specifics.

    • Application URL: Choose the exact URL of the domain you wish to use with Drupal.
    • Database configuration: Choose new... database from the dropdown menu and create a new custom database name.
    • Database table prefix: Specify the database prefix for this application.
  7. Click the install button to continue with the installation.
  8. Click on Finish once the installation is complete.
  9. At this point, you are now using the Drupal installer. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.

Can I use the 1-Click for an alternate domain?

Absolutely. When you get to Step 6, enter the URL for your alternate domain instead of the primary domain.
