(mt) Media Temple performs periodic health and wellness maintenance on our network, servers, and data center facilities. This is considered scheduled maintenance. (mt) Media Temple also takes necessary maintenance actions to correct existing server incidents. This is considered emergency maintenance. Sometimes, this maintenance can cause a brief disruption to your services, although we make every effort to keep this to a minimum.

Why?

Maintenance is a necessary and vital aspect of web hosting that ensures long term uptime and reliability of your hosting services. Maintenance actions can include hardware testing and upgrades, server and network load balancing, and security and software updates.

When?

Scheduled maintenance is typically performed during off-peak hours in the Pacific time zone. Typically maintenance is started at 9 or 10 PM, and maintenance windows extend to 12 AM, although customer impact times are usually much shorter.

Emergency maintenance is performed either immediately after a maintenance solution is identified for an existing incident, or during normal off-peak hours, based on analysis from our (mt) Engineers for minimizing customer impact.
