Using Coda for FTP/SFTP

  • Applies to: All Service Types

  • Difficulty: Easy

  • Time needed: 5 minutes

  • Tools needed: None

Coda is a Mac OS X application which allows you connect to any (mt) Media Temple service using FTP, SFTP, and Terminal . After downloading Coda from Panic.com please follow the installation instructions.

TIP:

We have learned that coda users have had much more success connecting to the (gs) Grid-Service using SFTP on port 22 instead of using a standard FTP connection.

NOTE:

  • Text in this color is used as an example. Please be sure to replace this text with the proper information for your site or server.
  • The following tutorial is provided as a courtesy to our customers to help you configure your ftp software to work with (mt) Media Temple's hosting solutions.
  • Third-party software can not be supported directly by (mt) Media Temple. If you have further questions about configuring coda please visit http://www.panic.com/coda/support.html
