(gs) How can I create a Database User and set permissions?

This article will show you how to create a database user on the (gs) Grid-Service. It will also show you how to change permissions for that database user as well. 

Create a Database User

  1. Login to your AccountCenter
  2. Click on your Primary Domain
  3. Click on Manage Databases:
    managedatabases
  4. Click on Global Settings:
    globalsettings
  5. Type in your database username and password, then click save.
    adddatabaseuser
  6. You should now see your database user listed.
    dbuserlisted

Set Permissions for a Database User

This will allow you to set permissions for each database user. If you have just created your database user you can skip to step 5.

  1. Login to your AccountCenter
  2. Click on your Primary Domain
  3. Click on Manage Databases:
    managedatabases
  4. Click on Global Settings:
    globalsettings
  5. Under the Manage column for your database user, click on Permissions:
    clickonpermissions
  6. Select the permissions you desire for each database:
    dbuserpermissions
    • No Access - User is given no access to database.
    • Read Only - User can view database, but can not make changes.
    • Read/Write - User can read and write to database.
  7. Click Save Now
