Troubleshooting "Plesk is misconfigured" error.
This article is for users who find the following message "Service is not available now, probably your Plesk is misconfigured." when logging into Plesk. Most likely this means you have reached some resource limit on your (dv) or (dpv) Dedicated-Virtual Server. You can find out why this occurred by viewing your QoS Alerts.
- Login to Plesk
- Click on Virtuozzo
- Click on QoS Alerts
Below are just a few of the possible errors you may see:
- kmemsize - this error indicates you have reached or gone over your dedicated memory limits. If you are going over this limit it is best to upgrade your service or reduce your memory requirements.
- privvmpages - this error indicates you have reached or gone over your dedicated memory limits. If you are going over this limit it is best to upgrade your service or reduce your memory requirements.
- numfile - the number of open files on the system as a whole. If you are going over this limit it is best to upgrade your service.
- numtcpsock - this is the number of TCP sockets currently open, which means your (dv) or (dpv) is using too many concurrent TCP connections.
Restarting your server will be a quick, but temporary, fix for most of the probable causes. To reboot your server you will want to first login to Plesk and click on Virtuozzo > Start/Stop VPS > Restart VPS.
For a more permanent solution, you really need to look into further optimizing the services on your (dv) Dedicated-Virtual to free up more resources or upgrade your service.
